Composer

Photo by Alan CortashLouis Lamp began writing music regularly while he was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, completing “An Open Mind” just days before his first deployment. After combat, he took a siesta from writing. It wasn’t obvious at the time, but in 2011 when he began as a hearing research test subject, the obstacle to writing music for Louis was a change in his hearing. Since helping the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research (NCRAR) in Portland, OR he resumed writing music. Today, he willfully writes and shares his music with patrons while awaiting more tools from the Department of Veterans Affairs to help him manage his auditory difficulties.
